Bio
The Tenbrooks Two is an acoustic duo on a musical expedition of old-time, swing, Cuban and bluegrass mountain sounds. Joel Klingler is equally comfortable on mandolin, guitar and banjo. Elsie Wiebe plays fiddle-like melodies and colourful jazz chords on accordion. Their self-written original compositions feature Joel's extraterrastrial flatpicking with Elsie's rhythmic accordion waves creating a full instrumental sound with mesmerizing or humorous lyrics and strong vocal harmonies. "Much of the music we write and perform is inspired by landscapes, people and night skies. Our lyrics tell stories of historic ghost towns, farming, mysterious lights, love lost or found and images inspired by the mountains and trees of the South Okanagan where we live." Joel Klingler is also a singer/songwriter of acoustic hillbilly jazz trio J.D. Miner which released a cd this past year - Ain't No Ordinary Hillbilly www.jdminer.com
